The Legacy of Richard Normann

Originally conceived as a prize fund within the company NormannPartners to celebrate Richard Normann's sixtieth birthday, the fund has been re-launched and expanded following his death and is now held in trust at Templeton College, the University of Oxford.

The Prize for 2007 of £500 may be awarded to a doctoral student, an established academic, or a business practitioner, whose submission, in the opinion of the jury, does most to further the intellectual legacy of leading management thinker of the service economy, Richard Normann. Through this, the Prize also encourages and rewards outstanding insights into the service economy, value co-production, and business innovation and change.

The Prize Fund is held in trust by Templeton College , and the Prize will be awarded by the governing body of Templeton College , on the advice of a jury. The jury for 2005-2008 consists of: Pasquale Gagliardi, Professor, ISTUD, Italy Larry Hirschhorn, CFAR, USA Rafael Ramirez, Professor and Fellow, Saïd Business School, Oxford University & HEC

The Prize for 2007 is £500.

Sponsoring the Prize

The target to launch the fund is €150,000, to be raised from companies, organization and individuals. This target represents an ambitious but, we believe, eminently achievable goal, given the wide respect in which he was held and the broad influence he exerted internationally. Already – and even prior to the formal launch of the fundraising campaign – a sum of some €24,000 has been contributed by friends and well-wishers.

Supporters of the fund will be recognized as follows:

- Sponsor 1,500 euros and above
- Ambassador, 15,000 euros and above
- Patron – 30,000 euros and above

Supporters will be kept regularly informed about the growth and development of the fund and about the prizes and their beneficiaries. In addition there will be an annual dinner in Oxford for ambassadors and patrons of the fund.
